Pair Of Large French Neoclassical Gilt Metal Wall Sconces

A lovely pair of elegantly designed French Neoclassical wall sconces.
Each sconce has two arms, each elegantly curved and designed to mimic a twisted rope or cord, leading to candle-shaped sconces. The arms are joined by a central knot, reinforcing the illusion of a knotted rope, a signature motif in Neoclassical decor.

The tops of the sconces feature a floral rosette medallion, and the bases feature tassels, reinforcing the illusion of rope draping. For a more detailed look, please see our photos. The candle sleeves mimic traditional wax candles.
