- This cast and chased silver Christ dating from the 18th century, hollow cast. Its physiognomy is similar to that of the Dead Christ by John of Bologna or Giambologna (1526-1608): a head inclined towards its right shoulder, a face with closed eyes, a lock of hair resting on its right shoulder, thin arms slightly above the horizontal, a torso with realistic anatomy with visible sternal striations and ribs, prominent flanks, a short perizonium tied on the right hip with a lateral fall, bent legs together turned to the right, crossed feet in internal rotation.
- The goldsmith used different techniques to create material effects playing on the reflections of light; the flesh was treated by polishing while the perizonium is textured, which offers a contrast between shiny surfaces and other matte ones.
- Holes, placed like stigmata, allow it to be hung.
- Hallmarks (still to be identified) are visible on the back on the top of the hands.
- Weight: 250 gr.
- Dimensions: Height: 22 cm, Width: 19.6 cm
