"18th Century Box From The Hautes Vosges"
18th century box from the Hautes Vosges in "Beech" wood? Wedding box? Probably due to the presence of 2 hearts side by side in symmetry with a cross surmounting a sun on a mound. The rest of the lid mounted on a wooden ball is decorated with a peripheral frieze. The front face is decorated with a typically religious cross. The sides are decorated with rosettes. See photos of details. Good condition, note however numerous bites from wood-eating worms. Length 26 cm, width 14 cm, height 8.5 cm
