Antoine HEITZMANN (1910-1998) is one of the most talented Alsatian artists of the 20th century. At the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, his teachers were Schneider and Schltz. He joined the Académie Julian in Paris in 1938 under the direction of Professors Untersteller and Souverbie. Painter, master glassmaker and decorator, Antoine Heitzmann contributed greatly to the renown of Alsatian Art; his technique is characterized by a very wide variety of style and support. Religious themes often appear in his work but he is above all the prolific author of a series of secular figurative compositions.
