Student of Edmond Aman-Jean and Jean-Paul Laurens, he was a member, in Paris, of the committee of the Salon des Indépendants, a member of the Salon d'Automne and a founding member of the Salon des Tuileries. Essentially a painter of Breton landscapes, he also illustrated novels.
