FIREFIGHTER HELMET OF THE COMMUNE OF LA CHAPELLE, TYPE 1855, SECOND EMPIRE.- Helmet entirely in brass. Crest with fins stamped with 11 gadroons. Front plate stamped in relief with the imperial eagle on a background of a radiant sun with a ribbon bearing the inscription "S POMPIERS LA CHAPELLE". Visor and neck cover encircled by a bent rush astride the outer edge. Chinstraps with movable scales. Brown leather interior. Very good condition, with traces of use and small dents. Size 55 cm. France Second Empire.
