Livia Gorka: Small Ceramic Vase, 1960s Design

Born in 1925 in Hungary, and daughter of an already renowned ceramist (Geza GORKA), Livia Gorka, after having worked alongside her father, traces her own path from 1959. ..
She draws her inspiration from nature, and her works are imbued with it, often asymmetrical, organic, all curves and freedom...: each piece is unique, shaped by hand, even if the artist likes "series"...
This small vase testifies to this, produced around 1960, and seeming to "dance" its own life, under its matt enamel with high relief, in shades of white sand and forest...
Signed under the base GL HUNGARY in black on yellow enamel.
Excellent general condition; a very small chip on the neck to be noted (see photos).
