Majestic pair of large candelabras from the Napoleon III period circa 1860, stamped "Hte. Ferrat" for Hippolyte Ferrat, an important French sculptor born in 1822 and died in 1882. Made of gilt bronze, patinated bronze and marble. Figure with vestals, each different, in similar postures, supporting a jar chiseled on its contour, from which spring the candlesticks finely ornamented with twists, scrolls and fleur-de-lis. Five-light candlesticks whose candle holders are equipped with original and removable wax protection, at the top rests a perfume burner as a damper. Marble base highlighted by bronze frieze contours.
