"Bust Of Jean De La Fontaine"
Library bust representing the poet Jean de La Fontaine. The writer is represented with his head slightly turned to the left, wearing the shirt of the Artists and wearing the imposing wig fashionable under Louis XIV. The bust is based on a column in blue turquin marble, a marble highly prized under Louis XVI. Good general condition, the label identifying the character is missing.
