"Georges De Sonneville Landscape Of Carsac"
Georges Préveraud de Sonneville, known as Georges de Sonneville, born in Nouméa on March 1, 1889, and died in Talence on March 21, 1978, was a French painter, draftsman, and engraver. The meeting of René Canivenc, mayor of Gradignan, with one of the artist's daughters, Denise Bordes, led the city to create a collection around Sonneville's works. These acquisitions will be at the origin of the creation by the city, in 2004, of the Georges-de-Sonneville museum, housed in the Priory of Cayac, and where works by the painter and his wife are permanently exhibited.
