"Georges De Sonneville"
Georges Préveraud de Sonneville, known as Georges de Sonneville, born in Nouméa on March 1, 1889, and died in Talence on March 21, 1978, was a French painter, draftsman, and engraver. The meeting of René Canivenc, mayor of Gradignan, with one of the artist's daughters, Denise Bordes, led the city to create a collection around Sonneville's works. These acquisitions would be at the origin of the creation by the city, in 2004, of the Georges-de-Sonneville museum, housed in the Priory of Cayac, and where works by the painter and his wife are permanently exhibited. Pedigree: Atelier de l'Artiste sale in 2011.
