Persian carpets like this one are considered the most valuable among hand-knotted carpets; the very elaborate workmanship, which requires great experience and skill, and the very long Persian tradition in carpet knotting make them very precious. They are characterized by very fine knotting and the quality of the knot that makes them robust and durable. The thin and tight knot also allows for the creation of the characteristic elaborate ornaments, rich in details.
This beautiful example shows a characteristic dark red background with the central sage green field formed by floral, vegetal and other types of decorations in shades of light blue, dark blue, pink, red, beige. The side frames are similarly decorated with vegetal motifs.
