Léon Brunin (pseudonym of Léon Demeuter), 1861-1949, Belgian painter of genre, portraits, figures and animated landscapes. A student of Frans Joris, he began sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He abandoned sculpture for painting under the direction of Polydore Beaufaux, then Charles Verlat. He began in 1880, in 1886, he became a professor at the Academy of Antwerp. He mainly painted Flemish interiors in the style of Rembrandt and animated landscapes. Works in the Museums of Antwerp, Chicago and Munich. Artist listed at Bénézit, Arto and Piron. Listed on Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...
