Pair Of Finely Engraved Bronze Vases. Florence, Late 16th Century.

Rare and important double-handled bronze vases finely worked and engraved with elegant and valuable motifs of vegetal and floral scrolls executed on their entire surface. The handles are extremely valuable, they unravel from a mask and include finely chiseled female caryatids.

Works of this kind were produced inside the grand-ducal workshops by masters of bronze casting in which sculptors, engravers and goldsmiths were active. The dating of these artefacts can be estimated between the last quarter of the 16th and the very first years of the 17th century.
