Bronze statuette, child Hercules strangling a snake, 17th century
This statuette depicts a mythological episode from the life of Hercules: when he was still a small child, Hera sent snakes to kill Hercules, but he strangled them without difficulty. Here, depicted naked, with his arms raised, Hercules is strangling a snake in his hands, giving the impression of looking his unfortunate attacker in the eyes.
Excellent condition. The statuette rests on a small round attached base.
