"Puiforcat Set Of 4 Louis XVI Style Solid Silver Salt Cellars With Rams' Heads"
Set of 4 salt cellars in solid silver by Puiforcat. From the late 19th century, their Louis XVI style decoration, with rams' heads, garlands, laurel friezes and acanthus leaves, is very neat, as one would expect from the prestigious goldsmith, particularly at the end of the century when goldsmithing techniques, more advanced than in the 18th century, made it possible to surpass the quality and finesse of the "original" models of the previous century. The interior of the work is in vermeil (covered with a layer of fine gold). We have sold several models of Puiforcat salt cellars, these are of the highest quality: the bottom is in silver and not only the side walls. The weight of silver is 1.5 times greater than usual. The salt cellars are matched with Baccarat crystal glasses as well as silver-plated spoons from Christofle. Each salt cellar and each salt spoon bears: - the Minerva 1st title hallmark (silver alloy .950 / 1000) - from one of the most prestigious French silversmiths, Emile Puiforcat. They are in excellent condition; no accidents; the vermeil is very fresh. No accidents, no shocks. Length: 7.7cm Width: 5cm Height: 4cm Net weight of silver: 128g
