From SAWN BEAMS and OAK CLADDING
Strictly old oak wood, from demolition and reclamation:
- Centuries-old roof beams. From the 15th or 16th century to the 19th century.
- Attic floor cladding; generally 18th or 19th century
- Large-section roof joists; 17th, 18th, and 19th century
- Etc.
Faced with the constant demand for antique oak floors, with a stock of reclaimed beams too short to be reused as structural timber, a stock of cladding that cannot be re-laid due to being too damaged, joists that are out of dimension, etc., we use this antique wood, completely dry and of exceptional quality, to offer a range of English-style or Louis XIII-style floors.
** English-style flooring: Parallel boards of varying widths and lengths, laid in the same direction.
** Louis XIII flooring: Parallel boards of equal widths or unequal lengths, broken by a perpendicular board, and so on (see photos).
This solid oak is strictly antique.
Laid for several centuries, it no longer warps, has a very consistent blond color, and constitutes a limitless source of supply.
With complete control over our implementation, we have the advantage of being able to offer plank surfaces with variable widths and lengths, or, conversely, fixed widths and lengths, depending on your preference.
In this sense, our price of €85 (excluding VAT) per m² competes favorably with the market's new oak flooring and parquet flooring options, providing all the rustic characteristics that these don't offer: visible knots, very prominent grain, and minimal variation in shades that are always blond.
Furthermore, we adhere to this principle: We do not contribute to the current rampant deforestation.
Our stock fluctuates rapidly depending on current orders.
Please be sure to ask us about our lead times.
Conception :
- Board width: 10 cm to 24/26 cm wide, depending on stock, one size or mixed
- Board length: 2 m to 3 m depending on the batch, sometimes up to 4 meters
- Regular thickness of 22 mm
We carefully sort our sourced wood and reject all traces of sapwood and any parts that have suffered the ravages of time.
The rough-sawn boards are then planed on the underside to achieve a consistent thickness of 22 mm. These are grooved on the underside to prevent any warping over time. They are then brushed on their chosen facing for its appearance, combining rusticity and the quality of the wood's moiré texture.
Then, they are edged to ensure the parallelism of the boards. Finally, they are tongued and grooved on 2 or 4 edges (your choice) to ensure a perfect fit.
