Marquetry cardboard cabinet. Its front, simulating 3 drawers, opens with 1 drawer in the belt and 2 doors. Inside, the cabinet hides a cardboard cabinet with file boxes covered in gilded leather with small irons. In rosewood marquetry in amaranth frames, it is decorated with beautiful bronzes gilded with fine gold with doe hooves. Above, a molded Pyrenees marble with cavetto. Louis XV - Louis XVI transition period circa 1770. This beautiful cabinet was equipped as a cardboard cabinet in the 1900s by a great Parisian gainier. The boxes bear the stamp of L Gouverneur Gainier, 37 quai de l'Horloge in Paris. (governor, supplier to Emperor Napoleon III and all the crowned heads of Europe at the end of the 19th century) Beautiful collector's piece of furniture, a rare proposition.
