Beautiful Louis XIV Cutlery Case, Basane Leather Decorated Of Exotic Birds

Beautiful brown calfskin case in shape of violin, closing with two small brass latches, leather hinge.
The plain bottom surrounded by fillets, lid populated with large exotic birds in frames of vine branches, all hot-stamped.
Inside is well lined with red ochre chamois leather, and can accommodate a "3-piece" knife, spoon, and fork, which we unfortunately do not have.
The original cutlery must have measured 18cm, the handles, 1.5cm. The exterior: 21cm x 5cm.
Work of Nuremberg, circa 1700. Good condition, wear from use, no flaws.
