"Concretion Of 8 Roman Coins - Treasure Of Epfig "
A very rare lot of 8 Roman coins of Constantine, concreted together, from the Epfig treasure. In 2010, three workers from a company commissioned by the Departmental Water and Sanitation Union were carrying out work on the drinking water network in Epfig, rue de la montagne. Their machine hit a terracotta jar hiding a real treasure inside. The Epfig treasure is one of the largest treasures discovered in Alsace for this period. It consists of 14,000 coins from the Roman era, mainly made of bronze, during the 3rd and 4th centuries AD.
