Large polychrome bowl from Arita. The exterior is decorated with a seated Bijin watching birds in flight. On the reverse side, a Bijin accompanied by a maid. Between them, a peony and a carnation in bloom. The interior is decorated with similar sprays. Arita, Japan, late 17th century.
