The head unscrews, it is possible to have a jeweler adapt a bail to wear it as a pendant!
Certainly a work of the Juclier house, successor to Cavé, specialists in fine pearls (see last photo for their advertisement dated 1913).
What is a hollow pearl? A pocket of mucus and sand can form in an oyster which will secrete mother-of-pearl to protect itself from the irritation caused by this foreign body. Unlike pearls formed around a solid body, the blowhole is hollow inside and has ridges and cracks which, once dressed by a talented jeweler, becomes a very decorative work.
