Circa 1865 France Second Empire period Visiting dress with train and large projected crinoline, bodice and skirt in sky blue silk moire in the antique style dating from the most extravagant period of fashion under the Second Empire. Fitted bodice, crew neck, buttoned in front and long elbow sleeves. Skirt with large elliptical crinoline, finely mounted with flat pleats in front and cannon pleats in back for the projected volume. The bust is adorned with a berthe collar in white cotton lace and applied with Greek-style zigzag soutache in royal blue and white frayed silk, emphasizing the shoulders, wrists and button placket. Reminder on the skirt by two false pockets in front and on the belt with large bouillonné in back. A few small defects to report from the fault which is haloed in the end of the train and under the armpits, some consolidations inside the skirt and two micro slits stabilized at the shoulders. The whole remains clean and the silk stable. Good general condition despite some defects. Dimensions: Equivalent size 36 France. Bodice: Shoulders 37, sleeves 47 cm, chest 95 cm, waist 62 cm. Skirt: height in front 105 cm, height behind 150 cm, skirt bottom 480 cm.
