Exceptional large Sterling Silver Soup Ladle in the prestigious pattern called "LAETITIA" by ODIOT. This rich decoration was originally commissioned by Laetitia Bonaparte, Mother of Napoleon. It features all the symbols of wealth, seduction, return from Egypt and splendor of the Empire ... including palmettes, fleurons, Golden Calf topped with crossed horns of plenty with mascaron topped with a Peacock, Swans with outstretched wings all on an amati background.
Please note that this model is still marketed by Odiot. Meticulously hand crafted from the highest quality silver, it is punched with the Minerva 1st Standard (.950) Hallmark and the mark of Charles BOULENGER (his name and a crescent moon) received in 1899, who will join the Maison Odiot in 1906.
