Charles Camille Chazal. Watercolor on paper "handsome dandy seated with arms crossed" dedicated, signed and dated lower left to Madame Naulan (to be confirmed) Camille Chazal 1855. French school. 38.5 X 29 at sight. 66.5 X 55.3 overall. Charles Camille Chazal (1825-1875) was a student of Michel-Martin Drolling (1789-1851) and François-Edouard Picot (1786-1868) at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He made his debut at the Salon in 1849 and, in the same year, he won the Second Prix de Rome. The Museums of Dieppe, Château-Thierry, Montpellier and Saint-Etienne hold some of his works.
