I emphasize that the helmet is entirely original and that the gilding and silvering is in a superb state of preservation and still present at 90%.
The bomb, the visor and the neck cover are in silver-plated copper.
The crest is in gilded brass. It is decorated on the front with a flaming grenade surmounted by a Medusa head and a laurel wreath. The sides are decorated with gadroons highlighted with pearls and framed with acanthus leaves and palmettes. The "rain shield" protecting the top of the crest features a braided mane. Finally, the whole is surmounted by a stylized brass lens with a tuft of scarlet horsehair (called "marmoset" in French).
The original leather turban is in black marine cowhide.
Pair of gilt brass chinstraps of the officer's model with decreasing chiseled rings, mounted on leather chin straps covered with fine black cloth, complete with their rosettes stamped with laurel leaves (small repair on the left rosette).
The plume holder is in gilt brass with foliage decoration.
Long mane of black horsehair of approximately 70 cm (visible part).
The liner is in black leather with a gilt border.
Slight wear from use (notably on the liner) and small dents on the bomb. Rare in this great condition. Entirely original.
Height of the helmet (without the mane): 40 cm.
