Late 17th, Early 18th: Sculpture Of Child Jesus With Cruciferous Globe H 57 Cm
This polychrome wooden sculpture of the Child Jesus is a work from the Baroque period (1650-1750).
Standing naked on a base, he holds the cruciform globe in his left hand and makes the blessing gesture with his right.
His rounded shapes accentuate his youthful charm. Endowed with a halo in the shape of rays of light, he is full of strength and shows assurance in his posture and in his foot gesture.
It is not common to see him like this, one foot on the head of an angel.
