Luca Madrassi (1848-1919) is a French sculptor of Italian origin, who died in Paris in 1919. He began his artistic studies in Rome and then joined the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Passing through the workshop of Carrier-Belleuse and then working for Gustave Doré, the young sculptor immersed himself in the trends of 19th century sculpture. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1879 where he obtained several mentions. He became a naturalized French citizen in 1890 and became a member of the Société des Artistes Français. Known for his rich production in statuettes, busts and allegorical subjects, we note in his productions a tendency to neo-classicism.
