Renaissance Style Writing Desk, Cartonnier With Corinthian Columns

Exceptional solid oak Renaissance style cardboard box, in solid oak. It rests on two ball feet at the front, topped with a largely molded plinth. In its lower part, two drawers with a front decorated with a central cartouche and foliage. Eight compartments on four rows each contain a cardboard drawer opening on the front. The upper part is a writing desk, its front is composed of two false drawers with the same ornamentation as the lower part. A flap reveals a storage surface, at the back of it, a second small flap also allows functional storage. The sides are decorated with two fluted columns ending in pilasters with Corinthian decoration. The boxes are in very good condition but have some traces of use, quite normal given their use and their age. Trade furniture from the second half of the 19th century.
