"The first scarabs of ancient Egypt appeared at the end of the Old Kingdom. They were not yet perforated or engraved, but already carried a strong symbolic charge linked to regeneration and protection. These amulets, often fashioned from noble materials such as agate or banded marble, embodied the creative power of the scarab, associated with the reborn sun and the cycles of life."
