Gold Powder Flask, Ashanti, Ghana XIXth Century
Old flask probably used to keep small quantities of gold dust. It is adorned with a decoration of intersecting lines at the top and undulating at the bottom. It is rare to find them with their bowl and chain. Brass patinated by time and use, wrought iron for the chain and the bowl. Good general state of conservation, see photos.
