Rython Amlash Persia 1st Millennium Bc

Rython, container with a long pouring spout dug like a canal. They were exclusively reserved for ceremonial libations. The origin of their shape seems to belong to Eurasia in prehistoric times, but it was the Greeks and the cultures of the Mediterranean basin who appropriated it in the 2nd millennium. The Amlash culture comes from northern Iran. Orange-beige terracotta Dimensions: 10.5 x 22 cm Amlash Persia 1st millennium BC Provenance: Former Parisian collection. *Shipping costs on quote.
