Rare and large Christ of Pity, or Christ in Bonds. Jesus is seated on a rock, stripped of his clothes, awaiting his torture. Monoxyl ash wood carved in the round. Traces of polychromy. Accidents and losses. Normandy, circa 1480. Provenance: Dodier collection in Avranches. ref.: published in the work of Jacqueline Boccador "medieval statuary in France from 1400 to 1530", the keys to time, Switzerland, 1974, fig. 267. A micrographic analysis was carried out by xylodata in 2015. The work also has an export certificate for a cultural good, issued in May 2015. Very beautiful presence; museum quality. Height: 1.16m
