Spectacular Samovar / Tea Fountain in solid silver with opulent Louis XV styling. Set decorated with twisted ribs highlighted with scrolls / combed, handles and feet with foliate attachments, and extraordinary pouring spout in the shape of a Dolphin topped with a wooden shell for the spigot. Piece rests on three turned wood feet. The samovar is complete set with its original lid and burner with wooden handle. Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, it is punched with the Minerva 1st Standard (.950) hallmarks and hallmark of the prestigious Master Goldsmith Georges BOIN active from 1868, and signature in full "BOIN TABURET Paris". Revised and cleaned by our Goldsmith, this spectacular large Samovar / Tea Fountain is in very good condition, just some chips from use on the wooden attachments and micro-scratches from use to note. A pure marvel to discover through the attached photos ...

Georges Boin was active from 1868 to 1881 before joining forces with Taburet, was awarded prizes at numerous Universal Exhibitions, starting in 1878 in Paris. He then shone at the 1889 exhibition, for his work inspired by the Louis XIV and Louis XV styles, himself being a fervent collector of 18th century goldsmithery. He had among other things in his collection the Ewer and Basin with the Braganza Coat of Arms made by François Thomas Germain. They also received a Grand Prix at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
