Miniature After Gainsborough
Large format oval miniature from the late 19th century painted in gouache after the painting by the English painter Thomas Gainsborough (1727-1788): "The Chilly One" A young woman is represented in three-quarter and half-length against a winter landscape background. Her smiling face with lively eyes is framed by a voluminous curly gray wig. She is wrapped in a red coat with wide folds decorated with fur and places a hand on the white ruff protruding from the coat. She is in a rectangular frame imitating tortoiseshell. Presence of a suspension ring. 10X 8cm 11.8X 9cm with its frame. This interesting miniature is in good condition.
