Omani battle shield called terr - Oman or Zanzibar, 18th-19th centuryShield made from a single, very thick piece of compressed and shaped animal skin. The skins generally used were those of the rhincoceros, elephant, hippopotamus and water buffalo.The shield is decorated on the presentation face with two bronze stars which are used to rivet the handle to the back.The handle is made of the same animal skin.Trace of use on the contours.Diameter approximately 25cmDepth approximately 13cmWeight 920gr
