Very elegant flying plate (platter on foot) from Liège, Louis XV period, in solid silver. Quite heavy for its size, this pretty piece of silverware bears the guaranteed hallmark of the Principality of Liège for the year 1760: hallmark showing the coat of arms of the reigning Prince Bishop (of Bavaria), hallmark of the year of his beginning of reign surmounted by the double-headed eagle of the Holy Roman Empire 1744, date letter hallmark to indicate the exact year of manufacture P for 1760. And finally the hallmark of master silversmith GL for Guillaum René Lamotte (1707-1780) for whom a production is known from 1736 to 1780. The center of the tray is engraved with two intertwined initials LB. It weighs approximately 700 grams.
