"Louis XVI Love Note Or Message Case"
Love note or message case, late 18th century, Louis XVI style. White wood structure covered with engraved mother-of-pearl plates and enhanced with silver marquetry. Subject "to the military triumph" illustrated by drums, flags, axes, quivers, lictor's fasces etc. Matching floral decorations on each end. Two opposite cylindrical receptacles of different depths: 7 cm for one and 4 cm for the other. Internal diameter: approximately 1.3 cm. Some lacks of silver marquetry but the set remains mostly complete. Slight oxidation of the silver. I consider this object in good condition for its age. Good casing. Illegible hallmarks inside. Delivery: €10 for mainland France.
