"Pair Of Louis XVI Period Armchairs, Dieudonne Stamp, 18th Century"
Pair of neoclassical Louis XVI period armchairs in painted molded beech, the flat back in basket handle, the armrest consoles finished in acanthus leaves, fluted and rudenté front legs. The frame of the back of the armchairs is entirely carved with a Greek braid motif which continues on the armrests. Stamped inside the rear crosspiece, Claude Dieudonne (1749-1780), received master in 1765. Provenance: collection of the Marquis de Virieu
