"Louis XV Period Cartel"
Imposing Regency/Louis XV period cartel clock in Boulle marquetry (brass decorations on a tortoiseshell background) on its console. This magnificent timepiece is distinguished by the remarkable quality of its chiseled bronzes. Indeed, its bronzes on the theme of hunting (Diana the huntress, ram's head, dragons, birds of prey) are hallmarked with a crowned C. This allows us to date it precisely between 1745 and 1749. The gilding is impeccable and sparkling. The movement, signed "Autrey A Paris", is original, and has not been modified (meeting wheel escapement and wire suspension). Very good original condition, the whole having required only a slight restoration. This beautiful and authentic timepiece has been restored and revarnished by us. The movement has been revised and is guaranteed by a specialized watchmaker.
