Note some stains and browning.
Under the engraving Fire is noted: "The Persians, the Indians, the Greeks & revered this element as a God that the Romans named Vulcan", Under that of Water: "She is the queen of the elements as sometimes absorbing the Earth and extinguishing fire."
These two poetic explanations complement each other and form a very beautiful set of two fine old engravings.
