French Sèvres-Style Porcelain and Gilt-Bronze Bonbonnière, Late 19th Century
An elegant covered porcelain bonbonnière with a deep Sèvres-blue ground, decorated with hand-painted polychrome reserves depicting playful putti among flowers and a delicate floral bouquet.
The porcelain is further embellished with finely gilded foliate scrolls and ornamental motifs. Its domed cover is surmounted by a gilt-bronze pinecone finial.
The finely cast gilt-bronze mounts feature an openwork gallery, two decorative side handles and four ornamental feet. The white porcelain interior is adorned with a hand-painted floral spray. Marked “Décor Main France” underneath.
French work in the Sèvres style, late 19th century.
