The base rests on four feet, two claw feet flanked by a woman's head
and two feet adorned with lion's mouths between two garlands.
Each vase is decorated with a white background
depicting a romantic scene of a Venus amidst two cherubs and a landscape scene.
Both vases feature a painted decoration by Charles LABARRE
signed C. LABARRE A

A renowned porcelain painter, active in the 1890s, Charles Labarre notably worked at Doulton, Burslem and Sèvres.
His painted decorations are all characteristic of traditional neoclassical painting with soft colors, where motifs inspired by ancient images flourish.
