Marine Oil On Canvas

We are offering for sale this large framed oil on canvas painting by Auguste BERTHON, born in 1858 and deceased in 1917. He is a painter of marines and portraits, he was born in Saint Etienne, in 1875 he attended the School of Fine Arts in Lyon for two years, in 1878 he went to Paris to study at PILS and FRAPPA. In 1880 he attended the Salon and in 1881 he joined the Society of French Artists. He was the official painter of the Navy. Let's get back to our painting since it is indeed him that we are talking about, our view is located in Belgium, taken from a beach with several boats at anchor, this view is animated by lots of characters. The painting is in perfect condition and its original frame is beautifully made, it has suffered in some places, we can say that our painting is treated in the impressionist style.
