Cast iron medallion representing the profile of Louis Mie (1801-1885), French politician. A lawyer, he was involved as a democratic activist in the July Days of 1830. He set up as a printer in Paris, supporting opposition newspapers, which earned him numerous lawsuits. He was a deputy for the Dordogne from 1848 to 1851, sitting on the left.
