Beautiful and Rare Dressed Wax attributed to the Guillot Brothers of Nancy. 18th century period Subject represented: Saint Joseph husband of the Holy Virgin In its cardboard and gilded wood box with its period glass. Devotional painting, Lorraine folk art. 33.5 cm high x 27 cm wide and 5 cm deep. Some accidents visible in the photos (the foot of the virgin which is detached but present in the box, neck of St Joseph, fingers) Appreciated by the court of the Duke of Lorraine these dressed waxes quickly arrived at the court of Louis XV. Exhibitions: "The dressed waxes of Nancy" at the Lorraine Museum in 1989 and "Cires de Nancy" at the Musée du Hiéron in Paray le Monial in 2025.
