Rare 19th Century Mahogany Throne/armchair
Magnificent and imposing armchair in solid mahogany from the end of the 19th century. It has a decoration carved in the mass of great finesse representing heads, winged horses, dogs, swans, cornucopias and ammonites. Its feet are surmounted by chiseled bronze hooves. Exceptional work possibly from South America or commissioned. The depth of the relief is a guarantee of a very great mastery of wood carving, its author unfortunately remaining unknown.
