Solid silver shell basket, Louis XV style – Germany, late 19th century Elegant solid silver basket in the Louis XV style, resting on a tripod base with finely chiseled shell feet, featuring the scallop shell motif. The curved body, richly decorated with rocaille foliage and raised rocaille cartouches, adopts a silhouette evoking a stylized marine shell, typical of Rococo-inspired creations. The interior features superb original vermeil, contrasting with the white brilliance of the exterior. German work from the late 19th century, demonstrating a high level of silversmithing, both in the quality of the casting and the finesse of the sculpted details.
