Pair Of Dresden Porcelain Plates, Late 19th Century
Charming pair of small plates with serrated and openwork edges in Dresden porcelain. They are decorated with hand-painted scenes depicting putti frolicking in the clouds.
Mark “Dresden” surmounted by a Kurhut, a headdress formerly worn by the prince-electors of the Holy Roman Empire and often used as a heraldic crown, on the back of each plate. This mark was used by the porcelain painting workshop Donath&Co, active in Dresden from 1872 to 1916.
