19th Century Victorian Period Black Leather Desk Armchair

This fine quality late 19th-century Victorian period black leather and mahogany captain's office armchair, dating to around 1890, is in excellent condition. The chair features an elegantly curved buttoned leather scroll back, complemented by a bank of finely turned spindles. It is supported by two large spindles at the front on each side of the armchair. The sprung, stuff-over black leather seat provides exceptional comfort and is adorned with brass stud work along its perimeter, resting on a molded bow front rail. Symmetrical moldings enhance the frieze, adding to the chair's aesthetic appeal. The chair stands on prominent ring-turned legs at the front and swept rear legs, all crafted from solid mahogany with meticulous molded details.
